EMERSON OVATION 5X00270G01 High Side Digital Output (HSDO) Module

The EMERSON OVATION 5X00270G01 High Side Digital Output 24VDC (HSDO) module is an intelligent microcontroller-based digital output module. The HSDO consists of two modules, namely electronics and personality modules, which are inserted into an Ovation I/O module base unit. The HSDO module comprises sixteen optically isolated digital output channels, with each channel capable of sourcing up to 500 mA of output current.

All sixteen optically isolated digital output channels share a common 24VDC power source. Power for these channels can be supplied from either of the following power sources:

• Ovation power supply AUX output (with a maximum total output current limited to 2A per module when 24V Aux. power is used). OR
• External 24VDC power source (with a maximum total output current limited to 4A per module).

Each digital output channel features an intelligent power switch that contains a high-side power MOSFET switch designed for switching 24VDC power to an external load.

Series isolation diodes are positioned between the output pin of each intelligent power switch and the output terminals of all sixteen digital output channels. These isolation diodes enable the 24VDC HSDO module to operate in either of the following two modes:

• Single/simplex mode (independent of any other module). OR
• Redundant mode (connected in parallel with another 24VDC HSDO module).
