The Bently Nevada Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer Systems are designed to accurately measure absolute (relative to free space) vibrations in bearing housing, casing, or structures. These systems utilize a two-wire configuration comprising a transducer and the appropriate cable. The Seismoprobe family of velocity transducers employs a two-wire design utilizing moving-coil technology. This technology generates a voltage output that is directly proportional to the transducer's vibration velocity. Unlike solid-state velocity transducers, which are essentially accelerometers with integrated electronics, moving-coil transducers offer advantages in terms of resilience against impact or sudden excitations. This makes them particularly suitable for specific applications. Furthermore, their self-sufficiency in terms of power requirement makes them highly convenient for portable measurement scenarios. It's important to note that, for most applications, Bently Nevada's Velomitor family of velocity transducers, which incorporate solid-state technology, provide enhanced performance and durability for casing velocity measurements. Two variations of the Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer are available:
  1. 9200: This two-wire transducer is well-suited for continuous monitoring or periodic measurements in conjunction with testing or diagnostic instruments. When equipped with the integral cable option, the 9200 boasts excellent resistance to corrosive environments, eliminating the need for additional protection.
  2. 74712: The 74712 variant is designed for high-temperature environments, making it a specialized version of the 9200.
Interconnect cables are provided to establish connections between the 9200 and 74712 transducers and other instruments. These cables are offered in varying lengths and can include stainless steel armor if required. The standard lead time for the 9200 and 74712 Seismoprobe Velocity Transducers is approximately six (6) weeks. However, this lead time may vary based on component availability and configuration. For precise projected lead times for your specific order, please reach out to your local Bently Nevada representative.
