The FBM218 module offers redundant configurations for eight output channels, each capable of providing a 4 to 20mA analog output signal or a digital HART® signal superimposed on a 4 to 20 mA analog output signal.

  • Fieldbus Communication : Communicates with its associated FCM or FCP via the redundant 2 Mbps HDLC fieldbus

  • Termination Assemblies (TAs) for locally or remotely connecting field wiring to the FBM218.

OVERVIEW:

The HART Communication Redundant Output Interface Module (FBM218) comprises eight channel-isolated output channels, supporting a mix of standard 4 to 20 mA devices and HART devices.

When used in pairs, these modules provide redundancy at the Fieldbus Module (FBM) level, with field outputs connected to a common termination assembly. In this configuration, one FBM218 serves as the Master, and the other as the Tracker.

The FBM218 also functions as a HART communications field device host, facilitating the I/A Series system's ability to request and receive two digital messages per second from each field device. This enables message pass-through capabilities to support various HART commands, excluding burst communication mode.

The module offers an isolated power supply for each channel.

COMPACT DESIGN:

The FBM218 boasts a compact design with a rugged extruded aluminum exterior for circuit protection. Specifically designed enclosures are available for mounting the FBMs, providing varying levels of environmental protection, up to harsh environments per ISA Standard S71.04.
