Proximitor Sensor:
The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor improves upon previous designs. It can be used in high-density DIN-rail installations or traditional panel mount configurations. It shares an identical 4-hole mounting "footprint" with older Proximitor Sensor designs, simplifying upgrades. The mounting base for either option provides electrical isolation and eliminates the need for separate isolator plates. It's highly immune to radio frequency interference (RFI), allowing installation in fiberglass housings without interference from nearby radio signals. It meets European CE mark approvals without needing special shielded conduit or metallic housings, reducing installation costs and complexity.Connectors:
The 3300 XL probe, extension cable, and Proximitor sensor feature corrosion-resistant, gold-plated ClickLoc connectors. These connectors require only finger-tight torque and have a locking mechanism to prevent loosening. No special tools are needed for installation or removal, but it's recommended to use connector protectors for increased environmental protection.Extended Temperature Range Applications:
For applications exceeding the standard temperature range, an extended temperature range (ETR) probe and ETR extension cable are available. The ETR probe is rated up to 218°C (425°F), and the ETR extension cable is rated up to 260°C (500°F). They are compatible with standard temperature probes and cables but limit system accuracy to the ETR system's accuracy.Specifications:
The provided specifications apply to a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximitor Sensor, extension cable, and 8 mm probe within specific conditions. Performance characteristics are applicable to systems consisting solely of 3300 XL 8 mm components, covering input compatibility, power requirements, and sensitivity. The Proximitor Sensor has an output resistance of 50 Ω.Description Notes:
- 1-meter systems don't use an extension cable.
- Proximitor sensors default to calibration for AISI 4140 steel, with options for other target materials.
- Refer to Bently Nevada Applications Note for overspeed protection applications.
- Mixing XL and non-XL 3300-series components may limit performance to non-XL specifications.
- While the 3300-series 5 mm probe substitutes for an 8 mm probe in limited mounting space, it doesn't reduce side view clearances or tip-to-tip spacing requirements.
- 8 mm probes are more robust against physical abuse.
- Each 3300 XL extension cable includes silicone tape for enhanced environmental protection, with connector protectors recommended for all installations.
