Triconex 4211 Remote Extender Module (RXM), in conjunction with a chassis, enables the placement of I/O modules at distances of several kilometers from the Main Chassis. RXM sets comprise three identical modules, serving as repeaters and extenders for the Tricon I/O bus while ensuring ground loop isolation. A primary RXM set connects to three remote RXM sets housed in a remote chassis, supporting three remote locations. Triconex 4211 RXM sets are suitable for fiber-optic cables with a communication rate of 375 kilobits per second. These sets provide excellent immunity against electro-static and electro-magnetic interference and allow configuration with optical modems and fiber-optic point-to-point cabling. Remote sites can be as distant as 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) from the primary site. The illustration on the right depicts unidirectional cabling for three channels of a remote location. For each channel, one cable transmits data from the primary RXM to the remote RXM, while the other cable conveys data received by the primary RXM from the remote RXM. Each remote location requires a pair of modules to be wired, resulting in a total of six cables.
